President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the lawmakers did not discuss the impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte during their meeting in Malacañang.
House Good Government and Public Accountability chairperson Joel Chua said this in an interview with Unang Balita on Thursday, December 5, after the Presidential Communications Office said last night that they gathered for a “fellowship” in Malacañang.
In the interview, Chua said that more than 200 House of Representatives members attended the “fellowship,” which he noted concluded at around 8 p.m.
“Wala pong napagusapang impeachment.
On Thursday, House members issued a manifesto reaffirming their unwavering support for Marcos “at all costs.”
Marcos had previously stated that he does not support any impeachment efforts against Duterte, his running mate in the 2022 elections. He also confirmed a text message in which he urged lawmakers not to file an impeachment complaint against the Vice President. (TCSP)
