Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu got emotional during the 2024 Seoul International Drama Awards.
In a Facebook post by MJ Felipe who covered Kim’s walk in the purple carpet, the It’s Showtime host was caught shedding tears of joy.
In her acceptance speech, Kim who was given the Most Outstanding Asian Award, revealed she had a prepared speech on her phone. However, out of sheer excitement maybe, she accidentally erased her speech.
“Buti na lang memorize ko na siya by heart,” Kim said.
KIM initially dedicated her award to her network, ABS-CBN, her Star Magic family, Lauren Dyogi, Dreamscape Entertainment, her fans, production people, and cast members of Linlang.
Her voice cracked as she began to share the award to Deo Endrinal, founder of Dreamscape Entertainment, who believed in her so much.
“Sobrang hindi ako makapaniwala. ‘Di ba, naiyak pa ko?! Una pa lang, start pa lang, na-starstruck na ko sa lahat ng nakita ko. Kasi lahat ng mga nanalo, yung ‘Moving’ yung ‘Mask Girl’, ang daming palabas. Napanood ko siya habang nasa bahay ako tapos ngayon nakita ko yung directors, producers, actors tapos kasali ako sa event. So naoverwhelmed ako, so nung nagpasalamat na ko, naiyak na ko,” Kim said to MJ Felipe.
During the awarding, Kim had the distinction of rubbing elbows with the lead cast of Mask Girl and Seoul Drama Awards K-Drama Best Actor and Best Actress Ahn Jae-hong and Yeom Hye-Ran.
At the post- Awards night party, Kim expressed her gratitude probably to Bang Moon Shin, the Chairman of SDA 2024 Organizing Committee. (NIGEL CHAVEZ DE ESTRADA)
