During the 11th House QuadComm hearing, former President Duterte extended an invitation to the ICC to proceed with its investigation, even in the event of his potential guilt.
“The prime suspect is presenting himself to the ICC on a silver platter. There is no sensible reason for the Marcos Jr. administration to drop the ball now and delay victims and their kin from claiming a measure of justice that was long deprived from them,” says Kabataan Partylist National Spokesperson and First Nominee Atty. Renee Co.
“Sa puntong ito, kung di pa rin makikipagtulungan ang gobyerno sa ICC, malinaw na pinoprotektahan nila ang mga Duterte. Kahit pa may biyakan ang alyansang Marcos-Duterte, malinaw na nagkakaisa sila na tumakas sa pananagutan mula sa mga krimen nila sa mamamayang Pilipino. Ito ay katrapohan at impunity at its finest,” added Co.
“Baka kaya may yabang si Rodrigo Duterte na hamunin ang ICC dahil tiyak siyang di siya isusuplong ni Marcos Jr. Kung ganito, pakitang tao lang pala ang QuadComm hearings para magmukhang mabuti si Marcos Jr., kahit pa marami ring dinudukot at pinapatay din sa ilalim ng kanyang gera kontra-insurhensiya sa pamamagitan ng NTF-ELCAC,” ends Co. #
