Kabataan Partylist slams Camille Villar’s self-serving political tactic

Kabataan Partylist accused the Nacionalista Party senatorial candidate Camille Villar and her family of self-serving politics and land-grabbing after calling her father, former Senator Manny Villar, “the best campaign manager in the world.”

Kabataan Partylist First Nominee at Spokesperson Atty. Renee Co said in a statement on Monday, April 14.

According to Villars, the election depends more on what the candidate owns than the service they will offer to the people.

For the Villars, the election is about their friends and wealth, not about attracting votes.

Unfortunately, Camille even boasts about this, with no advocacy other than protecting her family’s businesses.

Co said Camille, whom she described as “proudly a nepo baby of a billionaire political dynasty through systematically taking away the rights of the people,” will never be a true ally of the youth and the people.

Hence, Co said that youth leaders should be rooted in the struggles of oppressed sectors and not in elite politics.

Co also dismissed Villar’s youthful branding despite being 40 years old, stating it does not align with the realities of genuine youth advocacy.

“Sukang suka na ang kabataan sa inyo. Kahit may desperate branding si Camille na ‘youthful’ siya at the ripe age of 40, never magiging maka-kabataan ang paninindigan niya,” she said.

As of writing, Villar has not issued a response to Atty. Co’s statement. (TCSP)
