Julie’s Bakeshop will get to the bottom the controversy after a branch in Indangan, Davao City seemingly did an act of disrespect to their endorser Kim Chiu.
In a viral video, it showed a guy placing small tarpaulin on Kim’s tarpaulin which covered her face.
It is believed that Kim caught the collective ire of the minions of former president Rodrigo Duterte when she read an opening spiel on It’s Showtime where she mentioned the word “DASURV”.
Fans of the former president thought it was a subtle swipe to their idol who is now incarcerated in The Netherlands.
To probably appease Kim, Julie’s Bakeshop sent a cake to the host of It’s Showtime and lead star of My Love Will Make You Disappear. The cake came with a letter where they said they will investigate the matter at their Indangan branch.
“Congratulations in advance on the success of your movie!
“Please know that we are here for you and fully support you. We do not condone the recent incident in Mindanao and rest assured that we have already taken the necessary steps to address the matter.
“Once again, thank you for being our ka-freshness!”
Kim replied and said: “thank you fam! no worries!! Its a great day today mga ka freshness!!! Love you all!!! ❤️❤️❤️” (NIGEL CHAVEZ DE ESTRADA)
