THE man who was likened to a “jukebox” by President Ferdinand Jr. that would play any song for a fee had just been cited for contempt as the Senate panel investigating the controversial PDEA Leaks ordered his arrest and detention for “making up stories.”

The Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, chaired by Senator Ronald dela Rosa, said that former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) investigation agent Jonathan Morales “appeared to have flipped-flopped on his answers.”

During the hearing, Senator Jinggoy Estrada confronted Morales about the check mark he made on a box which says “NO” corresponding to a question that requires an answer in the personal data sheet (PDS) he submitted to PDEA during the recruitment process.

The check mark apparently was his answer to the question as to whether he had been found guilty in any case.

Estrada however said he had documentary evidence proving Morales was lying, adding the former drug agent had many cases, for which Morales insisted that he was able to comply with all the requirements of the PDEA recruitment committee.

Morales, referred to as the PDEA Leaks guy, is responsible for the leakage of a PDEA operational document dated March 12,2012 where the name of the President was listed as the target of an anti-illegal drugs operation.

PDEA however claimed that the document that was presented by Morales during the senate hearing was fake and that Marcos’ name was never on the agency’s drug watchlist. (ANGEL F. JOSE)
