Coming right on the heel of the box-office success of Un/happy For You, Joshua Garcia was chosen to be the voice of one of the characters in the blockbuster movie Inside Out 2.
Reports have it that the Filipino dubbed film will be available on Disney+ and is slated for September 25 release.
In the movie, Joshua lent his voice to the character of Lance Slashblade.
The first Inside Out movie was a major box-office success earning worldwide gross sales of more thatn $1.46 billion in its screening for one and a half months.
“Tinawagan ako ng manager ko. Gusto daw akong kunin na mag-dub, Cameo lang siya as Lance Slashblade,” the actor said during a mediacon.
Accepting the project comes easy for Joshua as “ako, sobrang fan ako ng animation lalo na Disney, Pixar.”
.”Sabi ko, bakit di ko subukan ‘to kasi challenge siya sa akin since it’s my first time doing it,” he added.
Joshua realized that dubbing is not as easy as it seems.
“Ginawa ko siya kahit kinakabahan ako. While doing it, akala ko madali lang. Ang hirap pala niya. May kailangan kang hawakan na parang handle habang nilalabas mo yung emosyon mo doon sa salita mo para lang maging expressive ka,” he said.
Joshua realized that working as a voice actor takes a lot of challenges.
“Hindi madali maging voice actor. Napakahirap ng trabaho nila. Buti na lang cameo lang ang ginawa ko,” he said. (NIGEL CHAVEZ DE ESTRADA)
