Jake Zyrus made a very explosive revelation in his book I AM JAKE which was released in 2018.
Snippets from the book went viral recently as Jake graphically shared the sexual abuse she went through which was perpetuated by an uncle whom she did not name.
Jake narrated how she was sexually abused by an uncle when she was just six years old.
“I was six years old when an uncle began sexually abusing me. The first time it happened, I was playing in the living room while he drew. He looked up from the sketches he was making and called me over. “Come here. I’ll draw you,” he said.”
Jake, although very young then, felt his uncle would do something wrong to her.
“Even at that age, my instincts told me something bad was going to happen. But I had no choice but to follow him. As he drew me, my mind quickly shifted to denial,” he related.
“My uncle then asked me to come with him to his room. We were going to sleep, he told me. Even if I had said no, I was so small and helpless. All he had to do was pick me up,” he shared.
“Of course, we didn’t sleep. He lay behind me, spooned me, and started touching me all over,” she added.
Jake shared that he told his mom Racquel about her ordeal. Racquel confronted his uncle who denied it.
In the end, Racquel didn’t believe Jake’s story.
Netizens were furious when they learned about what Jake went through as a kid. They commiserated with him.
