AS the government takes a higher level of crackdown against illegal offshore gaming operations embarking on scam farms, a top corporate executive of the Porac-based POGO hub that was raided thrice by authorities was spotted trying to leave the country via the Davao International Airport.

According to the Bureau of Immigration, the unnamed woman who was earlier identified as the manager of the Lucky South 99, the illegal POGO hub that was recently raided in the town of Porac, Pampanga, is on their watchlist.

The accosted woman will be brought to the National Capital Region (NCR) for questioning by PAOCC, as she forms part of the list of the 12 persons of interest – including Bamban Mayor Alice Guo and convicted former government official Dennis Cunanan – connected to the illegal POGO operations in Porac.

Guo is believed to be part of the illegal POGO operation in the very town where she was elected mayor, while Cunanan is an independent consultant of companies behind the POGO hubs in Bamban and Porac.

“Lahat po ng may kinalaman sa kaso ng Bamban ay in-instruct na ni Justice Secretary Jesus Remulla na maglabas na po ng Immigration Bulletin Lookout Order. So sila Mayor, yung mga kapatid niya, Dennis Cunanan and everybody else,” said Casio.

Escape Via Davao

According to Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) Spokesperson Dr. Winston Casio, the agency has previously been informed that personalities – including Chinese POGO incorporators would try leaving the country via the so-called “backdoor.”

Among the airports he mentioned included Clark in Pampanga, Puerto Princesa in Palawan and downsouth Davao.

“The preferred airports of these Chinese nationals coming in and out of the country are Clark, Palawan Puerto Princesa and Davao for whatever reason, we don’t know,” Casio was quoted as saying in a television news.

Interestingly, Davao is home of former President Rodrigo Duterte, under whose incumbency saw the influx of Chinese-controlled illegal POGO operations.

Slaughter House

Meanwhile, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, who conducted an ocular inspection inside the illegal POGO in Porac, described the 10-hectare scam farm as the largest and most brutal establishment he has seen.

According to Gatchalian, the blood stains and the tools believed to be used for torture he saw speaks well of the severity of violence that took place inside the POGO complex in Barangay Santa Cruz, for which he recommended the suspension of Porac Mayor Jaime Capili.

“Merong negligence na nangyari. Kung ang isang mayor hindi pinapasok. Dapat magsumbong ka na sa pulis, mag-report ka na officially, hindi yung tatahimik ka. Dahil kung tumahimik ka…Para ka nang kasama doon sa mga krimen na nangyari,” Gatchalian said.

Reacting to Gatchalian’s call, Capil’s legal team said they would respond when they attend the Senate hearing on Wednesday. (ANGEL F. JOSE)
