Gibo wants US to probe fake dope-sniffing President’s video

FOLLOWING a video which went viral moments after being posted, the government finds it imperative to subject what Defense Sec. Gilberto Teodoro aptly referred to as another destabilization attempt, deciphered by experts.

In a statement, Teodoro particularly took a swipe at the video “purportedly showing President Marcos Jr. sniffing illegal drugs” as “deep fake” or digitally created.

Peke po ang ginawa na video at obvious po na ito’y gawa-gawa lamang,” said Teodoro in a video message posted on the Department of National Defense (DND) official Facebook page.

According to Teodoro, the ill-timed release of the “deep-fake” released by the Duterte-linked vlogger based in the United States, is aimed at destabilizing the government.

The DND chief likewise sees published news reports on the alleged walkout of generals who attended a command conference at Camp Aguinaldo.

A seemingly versed Defense chief cited the need for the United States to seriously consider his call for a probe as the frist release of the video was made by a US-based vlogger by the name of Maharlika.

Meanwhile, Teodoro assured that the DND and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) remains supportive of Marcos administration – by virtue of the Constitution and the chain of command.

(ANGEL F. JOSE)
