Gasoline, kerosene prices to decrease by up to 10¢ this week

Fuel prices are expected to drop this week following the U.S. decision to impose significant tariffs on imports from several countries, including the Philippines.

For the period April 8 to 14, 2025, gasoline prices will decrease by P0.10 per liter—a slight relief after last week’s P1.40/L hike.

Diesel prices, however, will remain unchanged this week, while kerosene will see a P0.50 per liter reduction.

Major oil companies, such as Shell Pilipinas, Seaoil, and Clean Fuel, have confirmed that the price reductions will take effect in the second week of April.

For most companies, the price adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8. However, Cleanfuel—which does not carry kerosene—will implement the changes at 8:01 a.m. the same day.

In last week’s April 1 price adjustment, oil companies implemented P1.40 per liter for gasoline, while diesel and kerosene rose by P1.20 per liter. This followed the previous week’s hikes of P1.10 for gasoline and P0.40 for diesel and kerosene.

Metro Manila’s gasoline prices ranged from ₱60.35 to ₱71.48 per liter last week, while diesel prices were between ₱53.10 and ₱56.10. Kerosene, meanwhile, was priced at ₱71.87 per liter.

After these changes, gasoline prices will have risen by P4.55 per liter since January 2025, while diesel will be up by P4.45 per liter. Kerosene, meanwhile, will see a net increase of P0.40 per liter for the year. (TCSP)
