Fuel prices to increase anew by up to P0.70/L

Motorists will face higher fuel prices on the last week of February as oil companies implement another round of increases.

From February 25 to March 3, 2025, gasoline prices will increase by P0.70 per liter after a previous rise of P0.80/L.

Similarly, diesel prices will go up by P0.40/L following last week’s P0.80/L hike. Additionally, kerosene prices will see an increase of P0.20 per liter.

Major oil firms such as Seaoil, Shell, and Caltex each released separate advisories announcing the price adjustments.

Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz will apply the same price adjustments, though they will not include kerosene, as they do not offer it.

The price adjustments will be implemented at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, for all companies except Cleanfuel, which will increase prices at 4:01 p.m. on the same day.

Last week, the Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) forecasted mixed adjustments in petroleum product prices this week.

The agency attributed the changes to supply disruptions, the tightening of the oil price cap on Russia, and potential delays in output increases this April.

“Threat on possible supply disruption on the international oil market is the major reason for next week estimated pump price adjustments,” DOE-OIMB Assistant Director Rodela Romero said.

For the period February 18 to February 24, the prevailing retail prices per liter of petroleum products in Metro Manila were as follows: gasoline (RON97/100) at P70.29, Gasoline (RON95) at P71.20, Gasoline (RON91) at P60.20, Diesel at P56.65, Diesel Plus at P68.10, and Kerosene at P73.67.

Once these changes are implemented, gasoline and diesel prices will have risen by P4.75 per liter since the start of 2025, while kerosene prices will see a net increase of P2.90 per liter. (TCSP)
