Motorists can breathe a sigh of relief as fuel prices are set to decrease in the first week of March after two consecutive weeks of increases.
For the period March 3 to 10, 2025, gasoline prices will decrease by P0.90 per liter. Similarly, diesel prices will drop by P0.80 per liter, while kerosene prices will experience a rollback of P0.20 per liter.
Shell Pilipinas and Seaoil are among the oil companies that have confirmed the upcoming price adjustments. Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz will also implement similar changes, though they will not adjust kerosene prices as they do not carry the product.
The price reductions will begin at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, for most fuel firms, with Cleanfuel following suit at 8:01 a.m. the same day.
Last week, gasoline prices in Metro Manila ranged from P59.55 to P70.99 per liter; diesel, from P57.05 to P60.90 per liter; and kerosene was priced at P73.87 per liter.
Once these adjustments are in place, gasoline and diesel prices will reflect a net increase of P3.85/L and P3.95/L, respectively, since the start of 2025, while kerosene prices will show a net rise of P2.40/L for the year. (TCSP)
