House Secretary General Reginald Velasco has confirmed that a fourth impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte is expected to be filed in the House of Representatives next week.
In a statement, Velasco noted that several members of the House have requested an extension as they are considering the submission of an additional complaint.
According to the House Secretary General, between 10 to 12 members from both the majority and minority blocs have expressed their intention to file the fourth impeachment complaint.
Velasco declined to disclose the names of the Congress members involved.
He mentioned that if the fourth impeachment complaint is filed on Monday, January 7, 2025, he will either refer it to Speaker Martin Romualdez or postpone it. Furthermore, Velasco indicated that the complaint would be sent to the House’s Legal Department for review.
Currently, there are three impeachment complaints already filed against Vice President Sara Duterte. (ZIA LUNA)
