FFCCCII pays tribue to Nora Aunor

Prominent Filipino-Chinese business leaders honored National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Nora Aunor in a special tribute that celebrated her enduring legacy in Philippine culture and the arts.

In a statement, the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) described Aunor as a “luminary who transcended borders, cultures, and generations.”

“Through her roles, she mirrored the Filipino soul — its resilience, its sorrows, its unyielding hope,” the FFCCCII said.

“She walked barefoot through the deserts of Himala, her voice thundering truths that shook the heavens. She cradled the broken in Bona and bore the weight of martyrs in The Flor Contemplacion Story. In every frame, she etched not just characters, but parables of our collective struggle. Her craft was a bridge between the mundane and the divine, between the personal and the political,” it added.

The federation emphasized that Aunor’s influence went well beyond the silver screen, portraying her as “a vessel of the Filipino people’s stories, a guide through moments of moral uncertainty,” and “a powerful example of how art can uplift a nation, honor its struggles, and preserve its soul.”

In light of the nation mourning the passing of a cultural legend, the FFCCCII extended its heartfelt sympathies to Aunor’s loved ones, friends, and countless fans.

Aunor passed away on April 16 due to acute respiratory failure following a medical procedure at a hospital in Pasig City.

Public viewing for the beloved Superstar began on Black Saturday and is scheduled to continue until Sunday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Chapels at Heritage Park. After this, viewing will once again be reserved for family and close friends. A Mass will be held at 7 p.m.

As a National Artist, Aunor will be accorded a state funeral at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. Specific details regarding the ceremony have yet to be announced as of this writing. (TCSP)
