Eric Quizon reacts on forthcoming demolition of Dolphy Theater

Actor-director  Eric Quizon, in an interview with ABS-CBN News reacted on reports that the   iconic Dolphy Theater will be demolished soon after ABS-CBN owners sold a big chunk of their property to  Ayala Land, Inc.

“When I heard about it, sabi ko, ‘Sayang naman.’ Hindi naman namin pag-aari ‘yun. It was given in honor of him (Dolphy),” Eric initially said.

Eric said he’s not sure how he would feel as he’s slated to meg Star Awards this Sunday which will be held at Dolphy Theater.

I don’t know what I’m going to feel. Baka mag-senti ako roon. Baka papunta pa lang ay maiyak na ako,” he said.

Eric had one wish, though, if the demolition pushed through.

Sabi ni Tita Cory (Vidanes), pinag-uusapan pa raw nila,” he related.

Eric recalled how his dad’s first night of wake was held at the theater named after the Comedy King.

“Nakakalungkot. But I think it’s more than my dad, a theater named after him, pero ‘yung history ng ABS-CBN. Diyan nag-umpisa ang daddy ko. He has a good relationship with the Lopezes.  My dad is part of ABS-CBN,” he added. (NIGEL CHAVEZ DE ESTRADA)
