Migrante Philippines joined the call of the people of City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, led by the People’s Rights Network, Alliance for Consumers’ Protection (ACP), Water for the People Network (WPN), MAKABAYAN, Gabriela Women’s Partylist, Bayan Muna Partylist, Kabataan Partylist, and other local organizations, to condemn the poor water service provided by  Villar-owned PrimeWater in San Jose Del Monte City.
Since the establishment of the joint venture between PrimeWater and the San Jose Del Monte Water District in 2018, residents of SJDM have faced numerous issues with water services. The series of actions will carry the following demands:
- Return the management and operation of water services in SJDM to the Local Water District.
- Ensure the government provides adequate jobs and livelihoods for San Joseños. Establish local industries, expand support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and develop agriculture to create sufficient employment and livelihood opportunities for San Joseños.
- Oppose the conversion of agricultural lands and ensure food security for the community.
The groups also urged the electorate not to vote for candidates involved in and associated with privatization and other pro-big business policies that have only enriched the elite at the expense of the majority of low-income consumers. (ZIA LUNA)Â
