Duterte’s selective forgiveness exposes hypocrisy amid confidential fund controversy – Castro

ACT Teachers Party-list Representative France Castro slammed Vice President Sara Duterte for her hypocritical stance on forgiveness, pointing out the stark contradiction between saying that the Filipino people should be forgiving  while openly declaring her refusal to forgive others.

“The Vice President’s statement perfectly illustrates her double standards. In a sense, she wants the Filipino people to forgive the hundreds of millions in questionable confidential funds under her office, yet she herself proudly declares she won’t forgive those who exposed these irregularities,” Castro said.

“So ang gusto nya ay patawarin sya sa daang milyong piso na di nya tamang ginanit na pera ng bayan pero sya ay maghihiganti sa mga kumalaban sa kanya at naglantad sa ginawa niyang ito,” Castro emphasized.

The House Deputy Minority Leader stressed that the issue at hand is not about forgiveness but accountability. “Sorry, we do not need your forgiveness. What we need is justice and for you to be impeached. Isoli mo ang pera ng bayan,” Castro declared.

Castro further pointed out that public officials should be held accountable for their actions, especially concerning the use of public funds. “The Vice President cannot simply dismiss legitimate questions about confidential funds by talking about forgiveness. The Filipino people deserve transparency and accountability, not emotional manipulation,” she added.#
