DICT Issues Cyberattack Alert for November 5, 2025

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) issued a public advisory on Sunday, warning of a potential cyberattack scheduled on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.

According to the agency, the threat involves a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack, a type of cyberattack that floods a targeted system, server, or network with excessive traffic from multiple devices, causing it to slow down, become unstable, or completely inaccessible.

In a social media post, DICT explained, “Due to this, some websites or apps may slow down or not load immediately. But don’t worry, this is not a data breach. No personal accounts, data, or money will be stolen.”

DICT advised the public to:

– Retry accessing affected websites or apps after some time

– Use official apps or status pages for updates

– Follow verified sources for information

– Avoid participating in illegal online activities

Reports of incidents may be sent to 1326@dict.gov.ph or through the 1326 hotline**.

Under its Oplan Cyberdome initiative, DICT is coordinating with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center, the National Telecommunications Commission, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders to safeguard digital platforms.

The agency also assured that its National Computer Emergency Response Team is operating 24/7 to monitor threats and maintain a secure online environment.

DICT reminded the public to stay alert, calm, and responsible when using the internet.
