Former presidential spokesperson  Secretary Harry Roque is nowhere to be found.

His arrest order, his second, was not fully consummated as his staff refused acceptance when it was served in his law firm.

The House quad committee held Roque in contempt after failing to submit his Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth from 2016-2022 and his wife Maila’s 2014-2022 income tax return.

In a defiant move, Roque called the house panels move a “kangaroo court.”

The first time he was cited in contempt for which he was jailed for 24 hours was when he supposedly lied when he failed to attend the first hearing in Pampanga.

Roque, it seems, is feigning his bravery in addressing issues surrounding him.  His brave posturing in the recent past is not congruent with his “disappearing act.”

Roque’s closeness to AR dela Cerna casts a doubt at many were baffled as to why the former Secretary would give him unexplained privileges like making him stay in a posh mansion and making a joint account for them.

It’s also baffling why Roque seemingly lost his voice when he, loquacious that he is, chose to keep a defeaning silence on his second contempt case.

At this time when his social media presence is much wanted, he chose to keep quiet.

Clearly, Roque’s absence in the political scene is not without a reason.

Maybe he fears his House incarceration no matter how ephemeral it would be will rob him of his precious time to strategically prepare his ammunition.

Or it could be that his lack of legal remedies made him vanish in this air.

Whatever it is, it is clear as the sky that a case is looming against him.  It is something that he is not able to foresee.

As a lawyer, Roque clearly knows how to defend himself.  But the problem is, he chose not to, either because he no longer believes in the justice system of which he is a member or he knows it is already futile as the system reared its ugly flaws.

So sad that he was a staunch supporter of justice.  With his absence, justice can no longer prevail in his favor.

Son of God no more?

When televangelist Apollo Quiboloy bragged that he could stop earthquakes, his gimmick was applauded by mostly members of the hoi polloi.

That was then.

Until there came a deluge of cases which befell him and seemingly knocked him on his knees.

His believers at the Kingdom Of Jesus Christ barricaded in the compound of Quiboloy’s faith.  All of them believed he wasn’t guilty of the charges even when KOJC members were the ones complaining and exposing his shenanigans.

The two-week period that the police teams were looking for him was more than enough for Quiboloy to exercise his power as the Appointed Son of God.

Ba’t ‘di niya nagawa na ipa-stop ang pag-serve ng warrant of arrest sa kanya?

It was because he didn’t have the power.  His Appointed Son of God title was a misnomer.

For someone who wields so much power, it is surprising that Quiboloy was not able to stop all those arrest warrants against him.

What’s even more baffling is his fear of the US legal system which is after him for a series of cases.  He doesn’t want to be extradited to Uncle Sam’s land for his pending cases.

What is he afraid of, eh hindi ba Appointed Son of God siya?

In this day and age, some Pinoys are still of the belief that Quiboloy is innocent.

Well, the court is now the battleground for Quiboloy’s defense.

If he can stop the pending hearings which he will have to attend, and come out unscathed from all the cases against him,  only then will we believe that he’s really the Appointed Son of God.
