Chiz backs PBBM-VP Sara reconciliation

Senate President Chiz Escudero supports President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s willingness to reconcile with Vice President Sara Duterte for the country’s welfare.

“In admitting that he is open to reconciling with the Vice President and the Duterte family, he [Marcos Jr.] reminds us that the welfare of the Filipino people should always take precedence over personal differences and partisan disputes,” Escudero said in a statement.

Escudero admires Marcos Jr.’s humility in acknowledging that the recent election results reflect the public’s exhaustion from political conflicts and their desire for a government focused on their needs rather than political drama.

“I appreciate that the President had the humility to recognize that the recent election results reveal that our countrymen are weary of conflict and want a government focused on their needs, not distracted by the drama of politics,” Escudero said.

“Sang-ayon ako sa panawagan ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na isantabi ang pulitika at ituon ang pansin sa mga pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan,” he added.

According to Escudero, Marcos Jr. is correct in saying that the nation’s leaders should not be preoccupied with politics when many Filipinos are struggling to make ends meet.

“Tama po sya; our country’s leaders cannot afford to be consumed by politics when so many of our kababayan struggle simply to make ends meet,” the Senate President said.

“Malinaw po ang mensahe ni Presidente: now is the time to build bridges, not burn them. We owe it to our people to rise above division and do better—together—for the sake of our natin,” Escudero concluded. (ZIA LUNA)
