Property giant Megaworld Corp. celebrated its 35th anniversary on Wednesday, 26 June 2024, at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport City, Pasay City.
The Megaworld Partners Night, with the theme, “A Lasting Vision” highlighted the success story of one of the country’s leading developers over the last three and a half decades.
Kevin Tan, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Megaworld’s Parent Company, Alliance Global Group, credited and honored the company’s partners who have been part of Megaworld’s journey, including its growth and challenges.
First Lady Marie Louise “Liza” Araneta Marcos graced the momentous event and shared centerstage with Megaworld Chairman Dr. Andrew Tan, Mr. Kevin Tan, Megaworld Director Katherine Tan, and Megaworld President Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, in the conferment of special awards to Megaworld’s loyal office and retail tenant partners. These longstanding partners have been instrumental in transforming the company’s townships into thriving hubs.
The live-work-play community we now see in cosmopolitan Metro Manila is a concept popularized by Megaworld. It has then become the gold standard for integrated township development. And the rest, as they say, is history.
It is unfortunate that some quarters downplayed the evening’s highlight of celebrating Megaworld’s milestones and lasting impact to nation-building but instead zeroed in on the First Lady’s enjoying the night of great food and music.
There is nothing wrong with that. The event is a night of celebration and camaraderie where the biggest names in Philippine business are in attendance.
It is not uncommon in such events to witness the strengthening of ties and making stronger collaboration especially when they share the noble vision of uplifting the lives of our countrymen.
After all, not all ideas started in the company boardrooms.
