Former Bayan Muna Congressman Neri Colmenares welcomed the groundbreaking impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte as a “historic action for accountability and good governance.”
“This impeachment is historic—it is the first time a Vice President has faced such proceedings in our country. This moment demands swift action where the truth can be revealed, and accountability and good governance upheld,” expressed Colmenares.
Colmenares emphasized the urgency for an immediate trial in the Senate and called on the public to actively engage and monitor the process closely.
“We urge that the trial be promptly scheduled in the Senate. It is crucial for the Filipino people to participate actively and vigilantly in this process. This trial must not only serve justice but also educate the public by exposing the deep-seated corruption within our government,” Colmenares emphasized.
