The Philippine Army has delisted Cavite 4th District Representative Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga Jr. from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Reserve Force, citing serious violations of military regulations.
Effective September 21, Barzaga lost all reservist privileges and is barred from wearing a military uniform or rejoining the AFP in any capacity.
The Army said the action was based on Articles 177 and 179 of the Revised Penal Code, which prohibit usurpation of authority and illegal use of uniforms.
Barzaga, enlisted as a private in January 2025, was removed following his public call for soldiers and reservists to join anti-corruption protests.
The Army emphasized its commitment to discipline and clarified the move does not reflect on Barzaga’s public service record.
