Amb. Romualdez exhorts Pinoys in US to Stay Vigilant After Airstrikes vs Iran, Warns of ‘Very Serious’ Situation’

Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romualdez has urged Filipinos in America to remain vigilant following the US military’s bombing of three nuclear sites in Iran—an incident he described as “very serious.”

In a DZBB interview, he confirmed that US authorities have already alerted their citizens, especially after President Donald Trump announced the airstrikes amid the escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Romualdez emphasized this was the first time the US used a “special bomb” in such a strike and advised Filipinos to heed local alerts and stay cautious, especially in public areas like subways.

He reiterated that the situation demands heightened awareness given the potential for further conflict.

Meanwhile, the Philippine government called for restraint and urged all parties to pursue diplomatic avenues instead of escalating hostilities.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) expressed deep concern, particularly for the large number of Filipino workers in the Middle East.

Prior to the US intervention, there had already been missile exchanges between Israel and Iran.

Iran has since vowed retaliation following the US airstrikes on nuclear facilities in Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow. (ZIA LUNA)
