MINUTES after a major shake-up in the Senate leadership, netizens started feasting on a photo which had Senator Ronald Dela Rosa shedding tears in an apparent frustration over the resignation of erstwhile Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri.
Netizens by the name of Mike Salazar and Tochi Kiba blamed Dela Rosa for Zubiri’s ouster, in reference to the hearings conducted by the Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs on the controversial PDEA Leaks.
“Ikaw me kasalanan bugok… naloko mo si Zubiri sa motu propio mo,” reads a comment of Salazar.
Kiba for his part wrote: “Dahil sayo natanggal si Zubiri.”
Another netizen Cruzano Cruz aptly called Dela Rosa a crybaby – “Iyakin si Bato bobo! Takbo, magtago ka na, ayan na ang ICC,” in reference to the International Criminal Court which has been investigating the class suit filed by the families of extrajudicial killings which took place while he was still the Director-General of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
A Facebook account by the name of Elong Tuapos finds it rather usual for a former police general to be emotional over somebody else’s fate – “Ano yan? The rock, tapos iiyak?”
However, another netizen, a certain Amang Angeles sees Zubiri’s ouster as bad news for Dela Rosa who may no longer have anyone to stand for him in case the ICC serves the warrant of arrest against former President Rodrigo Duterte and himself.
“Wala na backer si Bato,” Angeles wrote as comment.
“Best Actor ka pala,” says netizen Bonifacio Habacon who doesn’t seem convinced with the crying scene inside the halls of the August body.
Amid jitters on Facebook, a political pundit who requested anonymity finds Amang Angeles’ short comment as closest to reality.
