Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa made a mockery of Akbayan Party-List Representative Perci Cendaña’s physical looks, out of his insatiable desire to defend Vice President Sara Duterte.
He threatened to slap Rep. Perci Cendaña after he reacted on Duterte’s statement about her impeachment.
“Gusto kong sabihin kay VP Sara, ‘Teh, hindi ito usapin ng jowaan. Usapin ito ng public accountability at pananagutan,'” Cendaña said after Duterte was asked about her message for Valentine’s Day.
“Alam niyo, mas masakit pa ang maiwanan ng boyfriend o girlfriend kesa ma-impeach ka ng House of Representatives,” Duterte said.
Acting on impulse, Sen. Dela Rosa threatened to slap Rep. Cendaña.
“‘Yang mukha mo, sinapak ng ‘di natin alam’ kaya ngiwi. Lumapit ka nga dito kasi sasapakin kita sa kabilang mukha mo para balanse,” Dela Rosa said, not realizing that the representative suffered from a stroke, thus his face looks distorted.
Later, realizing his shenanigans, Dela Rosa issued a public apology.
“The past few days have weighed heavily on Filipinos, especially sa aming mga Mindanaoans at ibang Cebuano speaking people. Maraming nagalit, at dahil sa nag-empathize ako sa galit nila, nakapagbitiw ako ng mga salitang hindi maganda at nakapanakit ng damdamin ng iba.
“I apologize for what I said and did, particularly in failing to see the bigger picture. My apologies to Congressman Perci Cendana for my offensive comments on his person. I wish him good health. I make no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt my words have caused,” he wrote.
Clearly, this senator is all bark and does not know how to bite.
He made a threat and then backed out from his threat.
What does it make of him?
A coward!!!
First, when you issue a threat, make good about it. When you didn’t, all it boils down to is empty blabbering.
Two, you made a mockery of Rep. Cendana’s physical looks when he even looks handsomer than you.
Three, when you make a mockery of a PWD like Rep. Cendana, you show your true colors. It unwittingly revealed how you were raised.
Respect is earned and clearly, you didn’t earn it from netizens who now look at you on a different light.

“Nasaan ang manners mo honorable senator ka pa naman.. saan ang honorable doon sa mga sinabi..big NO vote for you.”
“Binubully nga nya ang isang congressman na may pinagdadaanan sa kalusugan tayo pa kaya na mahiirap lang.”
“Hindi lang pala buhok and nawala kay Bato, utak din. Ngayon lang niya nalaman na hindi lahat ng nakangiwi ay adik!”
