President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said Vice President Sara Duterte’s ongoing impeachment trial will not affect the country’s economic progress.
In a media interview yesterday, Marcos said that his administration is focusing on investment and structural strategies that would continue to drive economic growth.
“I doubt it very much. I feel… hindi naman siguro. Wala akong nakikitang magiging effect na ganoon,” Marcos said when asked about the potential economic impact of the impeachment trial and whether it could slow down the country’s current economic momentum.
“Basta’t patuloy ang ating pinaplano, lahat ‘yung ating mga strategy tungkol sa investment, tungkol sa mga bagong structural changes nga na lagi kong pinag-uusapan. Iyon lang naman ang tinitingnan ng investors,” the President added.
Marcos emphasized that investors are primarily concerned with the country’s long-term economic policies and stability, rather than political developments such as the impeachment trial. “So, I don’t think it will have any effect,” he added. (TCSP)
