We, the Makabayan bloc representatives, strongly condemn National Security Council (NSC) Director Jonathan Malaya’s latest red-tagging statements and his brazen interference in Congressional processes and powers.

Dir. Malaya is clearly overstepping his bounds by meddling in constitutionally-mandated legislative processes. His recent statements attacking the Makabayan bloc for supporting impeachment proceedings only expose his ignorance of the Constitution and democratic processes.

“Sino ba si Dir. Malaya para pakialaman ang mga proseso ng Kongreso? His red-tagging statements are not only baseless and dangerous but also show his complete disregard for the separation of powers,” we assert.

The NSC official’s recycled red-tagging rhetoric linking legitimate parliamentary work and peaceful protests to destabilization plots is getting old and tired. What is truly destabilizing is the misuse of hundreds of millions in confidential funds and the desperate attempts to cover it up.

“Is Dir. Malaya now acting as VP Sara Duterte’s attack dog to prevent legitimate investigation into serious allegations of fund misuse? Instead of manufacturing fake destabilization plots, he should explain why he’s helping cover up potential corruption,”

Let us be clear: The impeachment process is a constitutional mechanism for accountability. People’s protests are guaranteed rights under our democracy. These are not acts of destabilization – they are fundamental features of our republican system.

“Ang tunay na destabilisasyon ay ang pagtatago ng katotohanan at pagpapalaganap ng korapsyon. Hindi destabilisasyon ang paghahanap ng transparency at accountability,”

We call on Dir. Malaya to stop his malicious red-tagging and respect Congressional independence. The Filipino people deserve truth and accountability, not recycled propaganda from compromised security officials.#
