6 out of 10 Pinoys see inflation as urgent concern – OCTA

Inflation and health remain the top concerns of most Filipinos, latest survey from OCTA Research showed on Sunday, November 10.

OCTA’s latest Tugon ng Masa survey showed that 66 percent of adult Filipinos consider controlling the increase in the prices of basic commodities as an urgent concern.

“More Filipinos in Visayas and Balance Luzon expressed concern about improving or increasing wages or salaries of workers compared to other major areas,” OCTA wrote.

The survey also revealed that respondents’ top personal concern is staying healthy and avoiding illness.

Next on the list were priorities like completing education or supporting children’s schooling, followed by securing a well-paying job or income source (46%) and ensuring enough food daily (45%).

The poll also showed that Filipinos had the least concern for issues like amending the Constitution and lowering electricity costs.

OCTA Research conducted the non-commissioned survey was through face-to-face interviews from August 28 to September 2, 2024.

The survey has a margin of error of ±3% at a 95% confidence level. For regional estimates, the margin of error at the same confidence level is ±6% for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. (TCSP)
