Marian Rivera took it upon herself to explain why students and teachers were given the privilege of getting discounted tickets for her movie Balota when it was shown in cinemas.
Sharing a photo of her teacher Emmy character on Instagram, Marian explained the rationale for giving discounts to teachers and students.
Marian initially enumerated the reasons and purpose for doing films. One is to earn hundreds of millions. Then there are personal movies, while there are also experimental ones. And there are films aimed at helping the society.
Balota, she said, aimed to help the society.
Concluding her post, she said: “Palawakin sana natin ang ating isip tungkol sa pag-appreciate nito.”
Balota was first shown during Cinemalaya Film Festival where Marian won a Best Actress award. (NIGEL CHAVEZ DE ESTRADA)
