With finality, James Reid said he’s not working again with ex-girlfriend and former screen partner Nadine Lustre.
“I don’t think that’s happening. There’s still that undying support that I’m always grateful for even as I transition to music, nandoon pa rin sila, to promote my music and support. But out of respect for my girlfriend, Issa, I don’t think I’ll ever do another loveteam,” James said in his interview with Ogie Diaz.
James told Ogie that he wanted to stage a comeback in the movies and television.
“It was always my plan to go back to acting. I just wanted to do music first.
“At the time, I felt, like, being in a loveteam, I felt like I was losing my identity.
“I think it’s something that everyone goes through at some point in their lives,” he said.
“You need a drastic change in your life and I feel ike switching from acting into music was the kind of change I needed,” he added.
James reiterated that he’s done doing love teams.
“But out of respect for my girlfriend, Issa, I don’t think I’ll ever do another loveteam.
“I think a lot of audiences can tell reality from showbiz when it comes to loveteam. So, you know, respect for her [Issa].
“I don’t think I’d ever do that again. But acting, definitely,” he intoned.
James is happily in love with Issa Pressman while Nadine is head over heels in love with her French businessman-boyfriend Christophe Bariou. (NIGEL CHAVEZ DE ESTRADA)
