Marcos tells CESOs: Your role is crucial in reforming society

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. told the newly appointed Career Executive Service Officers (CESOs) on Monday, August 5, that they play a crucial role in reforming the society.

“As public servants, our CESOs have the power to reform our government and our country,” he said during the awarding ceremony of the Presidential Gawad Career Executive Service (CES) and oathtaking of the newly appointed CESOs.

“You are instrumental in creating a more inclusive and sustainable society for our citizens,” Marcos added.

He extended a warm welcome to the new CESOs, acknowledging their commitment to delivering quality and faithful service. However, he also reminded them of the high ethical standards expected of them.

“You have also taken on the Herculean task of upholding the highest ethical standards in your career wherever it is that you are serving,” Marcos said.

A career official or a CESO is one who is appointed to a CES position and who possesses both the CES eligibility and appointment to a CES rank.

The President highlighted the CESB’s role in supporting the career administrators’ growth and preventing stagnation within the civil service.

Marcos then challenged the CESOs to join him in the reinvention of civil service and the bureaucracy to ensure stability and continuity for long-term programs and visions.

“The bar is set quite high every single day, and for a good reason: It is because your work affects millions of Filipinos and inspires generations beyond your tenure,” Marcos said. (TCSP)
