📷Fugitive KOJC founder Apollo Quiboloy
A MANHUNT is in progress in Malungon town in Sarangani province after its target – Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy eluded cops even before operatives arrived at the place where the subject was reportedly sighted.
According to Police Regional Director Brig. Gen. Augustus Placer, the raid was conducted after receiving tips from their civilian informers that the fugitive televangelist and a bunch of companions sought refuge at the KOJC ministry community in Sitio Kitbog, Barangay Poblacion, this town.
Initial reports had Placer personally leading the police operation to serve the arrest warrant against Quiboloy and company for child abuse and human trafficking.
Unlike what happened in Davao City where Quiboloy’s supporters barricaded the entrance of the KOJC compound, Malungon police chief Giovanni Ladeo said there was no resistance on the part of the fugitive pastor’s followers when cops entered the KOJC compound here in the presence of Malungon Mayor Maria Theresa Constantino.
Constantino claimed Quiboloy’s followers were very cooperative with the police which conducted the search within the compound.
Police however failed to catch Quiboloy.
Meanwhile, Atty. Kaye Laurente, Quiboloy’s legal counsel who was present during the raid, insisted that the religious leader had not been there for months. (ANGEL F. JOSE)
