NHA BRINGS GOV’T SERVICES TO MORE THAN 1K BENEFICIARIES IN PASIG CITY

The National Housing Authority (NHA) recently brought its 7th People’s Caravan: Serbisyong Dala ay Pag-asa in Pasig City with more than 1,000 participating beneficiaries from Brgy. Manggahan.

On behalf of NHA General Manager Joeben Tai, Assistant General Manager Alvin S. Feliciano spearheaded the caravan along with NHA East Sector Officer-in-Charge Ar. Kristiansen T. Gotis and NHA Pasig/Marikina/Manggahan District Officer-in-Charge Engr. Antonio T. Salazar, Jr.

The People’s Caravan was able to present different services offered by national government agencies (NGAs) and private companies to more than 1,000 housing beneficiaries of Karangalan Village Phases 1, 2 and 3, and NHA MRH Karangalan Village Condominium Project, Inc. The beneficiary-participants exceeded the initial attendance target of 700.

The partnership between NHA and NGAs has made the delivery of various free services accessible, such as registration of National ID and issuance of birth, death, CENOMAR and marriage certificates from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), late registration on Local Civil Registry, application and renewal of clearance with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), membership and release of loyalty card on Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Pag-IBIG Fund, as well as application and renewal of driver’s license with free road safety seminar from the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

In addition, the Philippine National Police (PNP) offered application of police clearance and medical services, while health services and free medicines were extended by PAGCOR, Office of the Pasig Representative and Pasig City Health Office. Also, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) conducted social services, livelihood activities, and a feeding program alongside the provision of free food packs from the local government unit (LGU).

Meanwhile, legal assistance was provided to beneficiaries via free legal consultation and notary public from the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO). The Department of Agriculture Agri. Marketing Assistance Services (DA-AMAS) and the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), on the other hand, installed a Kadiwa Store to retail fresh and affordable fruits, vegetables, meat, as well as rice, distributed free assorted seedlings and conducted free livelihood training.

Scholarships, training and seminars relevant to entrepreneurship, pre-employment and employment were conducted respectively by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Public Employment Service Office (PESO), with additional livelihood opportunities from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

In line with the goal of securing career opportunities for sustainable communities, a total of 16 private companies have engaged in a job fair. This included job vacancies in marketing, health, shipment, and business process outsourcing (BPO) industries.

Among the private entities that offered services were Sun Life Philippines, PLDT Home, and Converge. (ANTONIO)
