Former Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV reminded the public that Senator Chiz Escudero is allegedly facing a plunder case, which is why being chosen as the Senate impeachment court presiding officer can be considered a “redemption.”
However, because Escudero’s bias toward VP Sara is allegedly obvious, Trillanes warned the presiding officer that if he fools around with his responsibility, he should be sent straight to prison to be held accountable for the alleged plunder case related to the flood control anomaly.
“Ipaalala ko lang sa mga kababayan natin, merong kasong plunder ito ah, na nakabinbin. Kaya pag paloko-loko ito, talagang kailangan i-diretso na ito sa kulungan, kasi ito na nga, binibigyan na siya ng redemption,” Trillanes said on Sa Totoo Lang on One PH.
“Gumawa ka naman ng tama at maayos para makabawi bawi ka sa utang mo sa lipunan,”he added referring to Escudero.
He claimed to have noticed that when he went to the Senate—when Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte appeared as a hostile witness for the prosecution—Escudero and Senator Joel Villanueva gestured respect (nagmano) to the mayor.
“Pero nung nakita ko, noong umattend ako doon, kung paano halos nagmamano itong si senator escudero at senator Joel Villanueva kay Baste Duterte Teka muna. Kailangan i-remind sila: ‘umayos kayo,’” Trillanes stated.# (RRN)
