Batangas 1st District Rep. Leandro Leviste has expressed doubts on whether former Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) chief Adrian Bersamin will stand by his supposed revelations linking President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to kickbacks in flood control projects.

Caloocan City 2nd District Rep. Edgar Erice, in an interview on Sa Totoo Lang over One PH, recounted Leviste’s apprehensions.

“Ang sabi niya (Leviste) sa akin, kasi ang apprehension, ngayon, tahimik na, tahimik na sila Adrian, tahimik na ‘yung pamilya niya, wala nang issue. So, kahit papaano natahimik ngayon, hindi katulad noon, dati, noong unang ginawa ‘yung affidavit na talagang nag-aalala sila, ‘di ba?”Erice said.

According to Erice, Leviste showed him and several lawmakers and a mayor, text exchanges between Marcos Jr. and Bersamin allegedly discussing kickbacks from budget insertions and infrastructure projects.

He also claimed Leviste presented CCTV footage of Bersamin with his lawyers drafting an affidavit at Leviste’s Batangas residence, fearing he would be made a fall guy in the flood control scandal.

Erice said he even offered to make the disclosures himself, provided Leviste issued a sworn statement affirming the documents came from him. But Leviste, he added, remained hesitant due to “apprehensions” about the risks of exposing evidence.

“Kung sinasabi rin na paano ‘yan, after two years, kung wala na si presidente, baka naman sila ang habulin. Kaya nga sabi ko, you should… lahat may risk. Ang importante, gawin niya ‘yung sa tingin niya’y tama,” Erice noted.

Leviste, meanwhile, declined to issue fresh remarks on Facebook, pointing instead to earlier statements by Reps. Antonio Tinio and Egay Erice.

“Hindi ako magbibigay ng bagong pahayag; maaaring tingnan na lamang itong nakaraang post ko,” Leviste wrote.  (RRN)
