Indonesian authorities has already detained two companions of ousted Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos said on Thursday, August 22.
In a media interview in Pasay City, Abalos said Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Rommel Marbil gave him the information.
“I received a report last night galing kay Chief PNP na dalawa sa kasama niya ay naka-detain na sa Indonesia,” Abalos said, referring to Alice Guo’s companion without identifying the two individuals.
In a separate House hearing, Santa Rosa, Laguna Representative Dan Fernandez said Indonesian authorities have detained Cassandra Li Ong, an alleged companion of Guo.
Fernandez, co-chairperson of the House “quad committee” probing illegal POGOs, extrajudicial killings, and Chinese syndicates, also pointed out that the country’s police attachĂ© is already working with Indonesian authorities to bring her to the Philippines.
Opposition Senator Risa Hontiveros claimed that Guo met with her father Guo Jian Zhong, mother Lin Wen Yi, her brother Wesley Ong, and Cassandra Ong in Singapore when Philippine officials reported dismissed Bamban’s leaving from the Philippines. Like Ong, Guo is under fire for her apparent ties to POGO. (TCSP)
